Some Healthy Foods For Lunch
What are healthy foods for lunch then, well, listed below are some excellent weight loss foods you can eat with absolutely zero guilt. There should be 100% happiness as they will be incredibly beneficial to you instead.
These delicious fruits are perfect for a go-to snack if you do not feel particularly hungry. They are full of potassium and slow-release carbohydrates, which give us energy.
Potassium may lead to a decreased risk of heart failure and heart disease in general, so it is always good to have inside you.
Eggs are a fantastic provider of protein which I am sure many of which you have heard. Protein is an essential mineral for weight loss as it helps you to feel fuller for that much longer.
Thus you will not need to fill up on any “junk” or empty calorie food and drinks. Try making an omelet or similar as they are effortless to make and will keep you going for hours.
Also known as Maccarello, this slender fish is in high regard as a healthy foodstuff. The mackerel contains many essential vitamins and minerals, not least omega-three oil. It contains vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E, K.
Salad For Lunch
Some people even buy the bags of pre-washed salad, however, I personally like to buy romaine, kale, and other greens for my salad and cut it up myself. Adding things such as spinach, cucumber, tomato, green pepper, yellow pepper, olives, and sometimes some lean ham (this will make it less healthy). Always avoid croutons as they contain lots of oil and fat mostly because they are deep-fried. You can also add cheese but once again the meat and cheese can add to the fat content and calories.
These are an absolute breeze to prepare. It is so easy, maybe even your son or daughter could lend a hand in the preparation. If you do involve them, you could rouse an interest within them about foods? Especially these healthy ones.
To make them a little more interesting, you could add green and red peppers and cooked meats although please ensure that if there is any visible fat, they will remove it. When it comes to dressing it, use a low-fat dressing, or better yet none at all.
Chicken and Couscous
Here is a fantastic idea for lunch. It is both relatively cheap and straightforward to prepare. Why not buy some chicken breasts and some couscous and cook some.
It really will fill you up, and there is no sugar and hardly any bad fat in the chicken. If you want to spice it up a little, then add a few of your spices, chili, etc. and peas, sweetcorn as some examples.
These healthy foods for lunch are even more comfortable than the chicken and couscous to do. And you can do them quickly if you do not have a lot of time. Go for the tuna that is in spring water.
That will contain way less lousy fat. To add a delicious extra taste to it, you can add a boiled egg chopped into four along with some salad and a touch of mayonnaise. Make sure though that it is mayonnaise light.
Then you will be receiving a considerable amount of protein, vitamins and minerals, omega 3, and all in one item with little fat a few calories.
A Healthy Recipe For Lunch & Weight Loss
A tuna lettuce wrap is one of my to-go lunch meals they are easy to make and to keep them healthier I don’t use any type of mayo. However, I do use Avacoda and a little lemon juice so they aren’t dry. You can always remove one or more items from the recipe if they are not to your liking but all make a very healthy lunch. This healthy lunch recipe makes about 8 small lettuce wraps and you can also substitute with another type of lettuce to your liking to fit your diet or health needs.
- 2 (6-oz) cans tuna in water, drained (If you use in oil you will add on calories and fat that makes it less healthy)
- ½ large avocado
- 2 to 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, to taste. You can substitute with bottled lemon juice but isn’t as good or healthy.
- 1 Tbsp mustard (I also sometimes leave this out as well).
- ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
- ⅓ cup celery, finely chopped
- ⅓ cup dill pickles, finely chopped
- 3 Tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped (I personally don’t use it, the pickles are enough for me)
- ¼ tsp sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper to liking
- 8 leaves Butter Lettuce (or Romaine lettuce) (1) leave per service.
Once I have mixed up all the ingredients I like to use an air sealer and put 2 servings into a bag and suck the air out so that I have 4 total healthy lunches (I don’t air seal the lettuce). Then for 4 days I have made a healthy recipe for lunch and can just grab it and go.
